Dr Gutta Lakshmana Rao obtained his Ph. D. from the Australian National University, Canberra, Australia. He completed a four year Advanced Diploma in Western Herbal Medicine at the Australian Institute of Applied Sciences (AIAS), Brisbane, Australia. He is a Senior Fellow in the Alumni Association of Natural Medicine Practitioners in Australia. He is also a Qualified Member of the Australian Traditional Medicine Society. He has research experience in Australia, Canada, and the USA for more than four decades. Canberra, Australia is his permanent place of residence.

Miracle Spur

Twenty years ago, a personal gum infection that no dental specialist could cure but he himself was able to cure with a widely available leaf of an herb (Psidium guajava) turned his attention firmly towards herbal medicine. Dr Rao considered it a miracle spur and divine guidance regarding the destiny of his life in herbal health care.

Missionary Zeal

Most of the modern chronic diseases are not contagious or communicable diseases. They cannot be passed from one person to the other. They are not hereditary diseases either. It is now widely agreed that the root causes of most modern chronic diseases are in nutritionally imbalanced diet, unhealthy life style factors, sedentary life, mental stress, and polluted physical and social environment. There is absolutely no need for life long daily maintenance medicines for most of these diseases. Dr. Rao’s intensive studies on herbal medicine all over the world, in-depth research, and clinical trials proved beyond doubt that herbal medicine does have permanent cures for a whole range of modern chronic as well as seasonal or occasional ailments. In-Depth Research

Studying for in-depth knowledge, application oriented research, and intensive clinical trials are totally different from text book learning and preparing for examinations and qualifications in preparation for a profession. Dr. Rao conducts in-depth research on the medicinal properties of every herb he uses. He creates his own medicinal formulas for every modern chronic disease and conducts his own clinical trials on the effectiveness of each formula. He spends at least 3 hours every day for studying and researching herbal and associated medical systems for keeping himself abreast with the latest research publications all over the world.

Australian Herbal Clinic (AHC) AHC Herbals

Dr Rao established the Australian Herbal Clinic (AHC) in 2006 in Hyderabad. Dr. Rao conducts his medical practice with a missionary zeal. Dr. Rao established the AHC Herbals, an herbal pharmaceutical company in 2009 as a firm adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices under license from the Ayush Department of India. Herbal medicine is not recognized as a separate system of medicine in India. But Ayurveda also has some pure herbal medicines. As such, AHC Herbals’ pure herbal medicines are recognized and licensed under the Ayurvedic system of medicine for manufacturing and marketing in India and elsewhere.

The diagnostic tools and tests that conventional medicine uses can only tell in which part of the body a disease exists and how serious a given disease is. As such, medical practitioners and specialists who depend on the results of allopathic diagnostics for treating a disease can only treat the symptoms of the disease not the root causes of the disease.

Prescribing six to ten lifelong medications after angioplasty or stent, or bypass surgery for clogged coronary heart disease is an excellent example in this regard. Mainstream medicine has the same approach for a wide variety of modern chronic diseases. Lifelong medication is not a permanent cure. At best it maintains the disease to be within permissible limits.

Holistic herbal medicine obtains detailed information on the root causes of the disease from the patient. This empowers the patient to draw to the attention of the physician to the context of the origin of the disease, the problems and difficulties that he has been facing because of the disease, and to actively participate in the processes of healing and curing.
