 Australia. He worked in Australia, Canada, and the USA for more than four decades. Canberra, Australia is his permanent

 place of residence.  

Miracle Spur

Twenty years ago, a personal gum infection that no allopathic anti-biotic could cure but he himself was able to cure with a 

widely available leaf of an herb (Psidium guajava) turned his attention firmly towards herbal medicine. Dr Rao considered it

 a miracle spur and guidance regarding the destiny of his life in herbal health care. 

Missionary Zeal

Dr Rao made it his mission to discover the miraculous cures that herbal medicine has for most of the modern chronic ailments

 for which allopathic medicine has only daily maintenance medicines. Dr Rao’s in-depth studies on herbal medicines and his

 clinical research proved beyond doubt that herbal medicine does have permanent cures for a whole range of modern chronic as well as seasonal or occasional ailments. 

Extensive In-depth Studies

Dr Rao studied in depth the materia medicas of Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani, Naturopathy, Traditional Chinese Medicine,

 European and American Herbal Traditions, American Folk Medicine, Traditional Tribal Medicine Practices in India and 

Africa etc. His personal library of over 600 books on herbal medicine from all over the world is probably the largest personal 

collection of books on herbal medicine in India. It is increasing every year by 50 top class books on herbal medicine and

 alternative medical practices. 

Formal Studies

To add formal qualifications to his in-depth studies on herbs, Dr Rao completed a four year Advanced Diploma in Western

 Herbal Medicine at the Australian Institute of Applied Sciences (AIAS), Brisbane, Australia. Dr Rao is a Senior Fellow in the

 Alumnii Association of Natural Medicine Practitioners in Australia. He is also a Qualified Member of the Australian 

Traditional Medicine Society. He is a qualified herbal medicine practitioner in Australia. Herbal medicine has been very

 popular over the past 3 decades in western countries. Use of herbal medicine has been expanding annually by 10 to 15

 per cent. There are herbal medical colleges in most western countries offering courses from certificate level to Master degree

 level. Unfortunately, India has not paid any attention to this kind of medicine.

In-depth Research

Studying for in-depth knowledge, application oriented research, and intensive clinical trials are totally different from text 

book learning, preparing for examinations and qualifications in preparation for a profession. Dr Rao spends at least 3 hours

 every day for studying and researching herbal and associated medical systems and for keeping himself abreast with the latest

 research publications all over the world.

Australian Herbal Clinic (AHC)

Dr Rao established the Australian Herbal Clinic (AHC) in Hyderabad 8 years ago. He has his own herbal garden adjacent to 

Osman Sagar, Hyderabad to grow organically Indian and foreign herbs. Dr Rao conducts his medical practice  with a

 missionary zeal. He is interested only in curative not maintenance medicine. Australian Herbal Clinic works only from 10am 

to 2pm every day. Dr Rao provides consultation only for a maximum of 8 new patients a day.

Customized Curative Medicine

Dr Rao makes his own herbal medicines in the form of capsules, tinctures, herb infused oils, water extracts, syrups, ointments

 etc. As powders, extracts, tinctures etc of each herb are always kept available, AHC is able to prepare, if necessary, appropriate

 herbal compounds for any given patient separately. AHC offers curative medicine not palliative medicine for modern chronic

 ailments like cardiovascular blockages, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, phlebitis, varicose veins, leg ulcers pains cramps,

 Daily, Andhra Jyothi Daily and a number of medical periodicals for the last eight years and gets regular appreciative fan mail and telephone calls.

Rao’s Books on Herbal Medicine

Dr Rao wrote three books on pure herbal medical treatments in Telugu. These books were published by the Hyderabad Book 

Trust, Hyderabad. These are very well reviewed in newspapers and are selling well in the market.

As books published in Telugu have a very limited market, Dr Rao is now writing all books in English. A book on Alternative 

Therapies for Diabetes, A book on Alternative Therapies for Cancer, and a book on Fibrinolytic Systemic Enzymes for

 Cardiovascular Problems and Diabetes are now in the press and will be published soon.

TV Programs

Dr Rao has been doing half hour live TV programs on TNews, INews, HMTV and now on CVR Health Channel on herbal

 medicine. Response has been very good in terms of (1) patients raising questions during the live programs and (2) arrival of

 patients at the Australian Herbal Clinic in Hyderabad.  

Status of Herbal Medicine in India

Herbal potions inherited from one generation to the other for particular ailments and herbal potions for particular ailments

 based on personal knowledge and clinical experience existed in India since ancient times. Such traditions are approved in

 India as valid, on 8 June 1998, by the Madras High Court with the stipulation that such practitioners do not prescribe patented

 and branded medicines of formally recognized medical systems. Established and officially recognized Indian traditional

 medicine systems like Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha, Naturopathy, Homeopathy etc. use a vast number of herbs for manufacturing

 their medicines but do not depend solely on herbal substances. A wide variety of animal products, acids, alkaline substances,

 minerals, metals, metallic oxides etc are used by some of these traditional medicine systems. In contrast, herbal medicine uses 

only edible herbal substances and nothing else for manufacturing medicines.  

AHC Herbals

Dr Rao established the AHC Herbals, an herbal pharmaceutical company in 2009 as a firm adhering to Good Manufacturing

 Practices. Nine of Dr Rao’s herbal formulations were approved for manufacturing and marketing by the Ayush Department.

 Another 11 are in the process of getting approved. Dr Rao emphasizes that herbal medicine has permanent cures for most of 

the modern chronic diseases for which allopathic medicine has only daily maintenance medicines. 

Herbal medicine is not recognized as a separate system of medicine in India. But Ayurveda also has some pure herbal

 medicines. As such, AHC Herbals’ pure herbal medicines are recognized and licensed under the Ayurvedic system of

 medicine for manufacturing and marketing in India and elsewhere.
